New U.S. History Curriculum Rewrites America's Past This autumn, the College Board will roll out a revised AP U.S. history curriculum which deliberately reinforces the progressive narrative of American shame. By glossing over central American figures, like the Founding Fathers, and focusing on the suffering of Native Americans and Africans at the hands of European settlers, the new curriculum is poised to reshape the next generation's perception of America's goodness. Peter Wood, president of the National Association of Scholars, says that the curriculum amounts to "a briefing document on progressive and leftist views of the American past." The document "weaves together a vaguely Marxist or at least materialist reading of the key events with the whole litany of identity group grievances." Read more here.
