Action Alert: Deal in Your District!

Congress can't get enough of backroom deals that sell out their constituents.  Now it's time to tell them to deal in their districts.

On Thursday, April 28th at 12:30pm ET, Patriots across the nation will head to their Congressman's local office to share their thoughts as constituents. Click here for more details.

This is the deal Members of Congress need to make with their constituents:

  1. No Debt Ceiling Increase.  Do not raise the debt ceiling.  Our credit is maxed out and it is time to cut America's credit card.
  2. Support the Full Faith and Credit Act.  Urge them to support the Full Faith and Credit Act introduced by Sen. Toomey. This will ensure that America pays our debt first and does not default on it.
  3. No Tax Increases.  Tell them not raise taxes. Tax increases will further slow the economic recovery.  They have enough revenue to run the government.

We Need Your Help!

Dear Members,

Tomorrow, Patriots like you will visit their U.S. Representatives to make the Deal in the District a success.

Tea Party Patriots is proud to organize efforts like Deal in the District and to help you and your Tea Party group maximize your impact.

But in order to provide you with even more resources, we need you to step up today.

Please consider a donation of $10, $20, or even $40 today.

Your donation will allow us to organize more events and give you and your Tea Party group the support you need to take the fight to the reckless spenders in Congress.

We all need to push as hard as we can to keep America from being spent into ruin.

And the way to do that is to keep the Tea Party movement strong.

So please be sure to make a contribution today of $10, $20, or $40.

Now is the time to up the ante and show Washington that Tea Partiers are not going to stop protecting America from their irresponsibility

Stay in the fight!

Call to Action: Deal in Your District

They've said:

"The Tea Party is not growing. They are not strong.  You do not need to worry about how they will react to your vote."

"If you do not like what we are doing, and don't vote with us, you should get the hell out."

Those sound like words from the White House or Senate leaders don't they?  But they're not.  These were comments made by Republican House Leadership and their allies behind closed doors.

Much of Congress and the White House and the Republican leadership in the House, used our military as a negotiating chip while service men and women risked their lives for us.

Washington then passed a budget deal using fuzzy math that only cut $352 million: $99,648,000,000 short of the $100 billion promised.  They spend roughly $6 million per minute, so that's 51 minutes of spending.

Have you had enough yet?  Do you like being downplayed and disregarded by the Party who won a majority based on our core values of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government, and free markets?  How do you feel about the military being used as a bargaining chip, not just by the Democrats but also by the Republicans?  How would you feel if you were standing up for our core values in a meeting and told that you could get the hell out for standing up for those values?

Mark Your Calendars: Deal in the District

Patriots,

In case you haven't heard from the White House, the federal debt ceiling is at a point where it would be "armageddon-like" if we didn't raise it. Since some projections indicate that it needs to be increased by mid-May, don't you think our Representatives should be working diligently on a solution? Did you know that they are at home on a 2 week recess right now? If this is such a severe situation, why would they be home? Maybe the answer is that it isn't as catastrophic as the White House is making it sound.

On April 28, 2011, we are urging you to go visit your Representative and Senators at 12:30pm local time to express your concerns with impending fiscal disaster. Most recently the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the President made "a DEAL" to adhere to our demands for spending cuts. We asked for $100 billion (2.6 pennies on the dollar) in cuts, instead they gave us $352 MILLION. Now is the time for you to visit with your elected officials to make a DEAL of your own. A DEAL in your own DISTRICT not in the District of Colombia.

Thousands of you have expressed your discontent with the actions of the current Congress. The class that was supposed to go in and push things back in the right direction has clearly been ineffective in doing so.

We know many of you are upset, you feel betrayed, and you are possibly ready to look onto 2012, but there are still major battles that must be fought with this Congress.  We will continue fighting those battles beginning next week. The Deal in the District will NOT be a protest. We will visit the offices, tell the Congressmen and Senators (and their staff) what deal we expect for the rest of this Congressional term, present them with a letter of our demands, and remind them that we are watching and we will hold them accountable.

Call to Action: Budget Deal or Budget Heist?

38.5 billion
Late last week, the entire country waited in suspense to find out whether or not lawmakers could come to an agreement to prevent government shutdown. While we pushed for the maximum amount of cuts from an overly bloated federal spending bill, "the deal" we received was far less than what we demanded. Headlines and lawmakers alike began touting that these were the largest spending cuts in history. But what they forgot to include in those headlines was the asterisk seen above.

For a little insight into just what is meant by the asterisk, read below.
