| In honor of our fallen heroes Dear Friends, Between the bad guys in the world and us stands only one person: the American serviceman. Today, we honor those brave men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice that the rest of us might continue to enjoy the freedoms promised to us in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. On this Memorial Day, my family and I join Americans all over our great nation in pausing to honor our country's finest. How inadequate words are to convey our gratitude that these men and women gave their lives so that we can remain safe, prosperous, and free! Memorial Day should serve as a reminder that the world is a better place because of the millions of selfless Americans who fight for freedom anywhere it needs defending—despite the risks—and do so without asking for anything in return. To the heroes that laid down their lives for our freedom and the freedom of others around the globe, thank you. Today, I joined "Fox & Friends" for a special Memorial Day episode to talk about a different kind of declaration of independence—Germany's recent one from the United States. In an obvious slight at Trump, Merkel said this weekend that the "times when [Germany] could fully rely on others are somewhat over." Although Merkel meant these comments in a way that was critical of the United States, I'm ecstatic to see signals that Europe may soon take more responsibility for its own security. Pete Hegseth and I discussed this morning: The security agreements in place today were designed in the 1940s when the West had to worry that Germany would try to dominate Eastern Europe. In the modern world, we will have a much healthier alliance with Europe when all the parties involve carry their own weight. What are you doing to honor our nation's fallen heroes this Memorial Day? Send me a tweet and let me know. Sincerely, Dinesh D'Souza | | D'Souza Media Corporation © 2016 1140 Wall Street, #2157 La Jolla CA 92038 USA Email sent to us@peninsulateaparty.org on May 29, 2017.
