Could it be that Alexa was explicitly targeted because she was adorned with Rebel News credentials?
Dear Robert, You might have heard about the shocking attack by police on Rebel reporter Alexa Lavoie in Ottawa on Saturday. While reporting from the frontlines of the police crackdown on the Freedom Convoy, she was clubbed multiple times by riot police before being shot point-blank in the leg with a tear gas canister. The attack was downright brutal and left her in unimaginable pain. But Alexa has a wonderful spirit and the heart of a lion. After taking some time to recover, she bravely returned to the scene as riot police continued to descend on the protesters. We caught up shortly after the incident to discuss what happened. Click here to watch what she had to say. So where's the outrage in the media? Had it been a CBC journalist like Rosemary Barton who got hit, there would already be a Royal Commission! Could it be that Alexa was explicitly targeted because she was adorned with Rebel News credentials? This certainly isn't the first time a Rebel reporter was violently assaulted by police while practicing journalism — I have my own horror story from when I tried to interview Justin Trudeau last December. We're not going to take this sitting down. We will sue that police officer and his police force for what they did to Alexa. No journalist should ever fear reprisal from the police while reporting the news. If you would like to help us crowdfund our lawsuit, please click here or visit StandWithAlexa.com. Yours truly, David Menzies P.S. Alexa was attacked while simply practicing journalism in the public square. To help with her legal fees to sue the police, please go to StandWithAlexa.com. Donations of all sizes are greatly appreciated — whether it's $5 or $500, everything helps. To donate, please click here. Thank you for your support. | | | | | Rebel News Network Ltd.
