Mitt

Virginia,

These Grab a Bite meals have been a lot of fun. Mitt and I leave the table each time feeling inspired and energized just from meeting and chatting with supporters over a good meal. In fact, I think we feel as much like we've won something as the actual "winners" do.

I just wanted to let you know that the entry deadline for our next Grab a Bite meal is tonight at midnight. And Mitt and I would love to meet you.

GrabaBiteTwoSpotsLeft

So donate $3 or more today to be automatically entered for a chance to grab a bite with us:

I hope to meet the lucky winners soon!

Thanks again,

Ann Romney

2012 ELECTION COUNTDOWN:

Election Day: 160 Days
Follow us today on:
facebookVI twitterVI YouTubeVI

In this week's installment:

Remembering Our Heroes
A Memorial Day 2012 Message from RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and Co-Chairman Sharon Day.

Keeping America Strong
"Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney chose Memorial Day to proclaim to the American people his conviction that the world is a dangerous place, and the United States must remain its most formidable military power."  (Sam Youngman, "Romney Tells Vets Dangerous World Demands Powerful Military," Reuters, 5/28/2012)

A Steady Hand
A successful business leader with first-hand experience of Mitt Romney's free market know-how is confident that he's just the right leader to turn Barack Obama's economic malaise around.  (Tom Sternberg, "Staples Founder: Romney Will Clean Up Obama's Economic Mess," Fox News, 5/22/2012)

"Taxmageddon"
"A new government study released Tuesday says that allowing Bush-era tax cuts to expire and a scheduled round of automatic spending cuts to take effect would probably throw the economy into a recession."  ("CBO Says US Likely to Fall Off 'Fiscal Cliff' if Bush-Era Tax Cuts Allowed to Expire," AP/Fox News, 5/22/2012)

Nightmare Scenario
"From ObamaCare, excessive spending, increased debt and lack of effort on reforming entitlement programs, to flawed policies on taxes and energy, this administration's efforts have hurt our economy, stifled job creation, and taken away many of the freedoms and characteristics that have made America great."  (Pete du Pont, "Four More Years? If You Think the First Obama Term Has Been Bad, Just Wait," Wall Street Journal, 5/28/2012)

The Many Faces of Obama
"Is Barack Obama not a metaphor for much of anything other than the fact that it is harder to be president of the United States than to be at Harvard or Chicago Law School, the Illinois legislature or the U.S. Senate, where everyone declared that you did everything by doing not much at all?" (Victor Davis Hanson, "Two, Three, Many Obamas," National Review, 5/29/2012)

How Embarrassing
A week after Barack Obama lost over 40% of West Virginia primary votes to an incarcerated felon, large numbers of Arkansas and Kentucky Democrats choose perennial candidate, "uncommitted" over their incumbent president.  (Josh Lederman & Emily Goodin, "4 in 10 Democrats Desert Obama in Arkansas, Kentucky Primaries," The Hill, 5/22/2012)

A Break From Biden
"Vice President Biden, who has been increasingly prone to gaffes and veering off message as of late, is taking the week off.  Biden will be at home in Wilmington, Delaware for the rest of the week.  He needs the rest.  While always prone to saying the wrong thing, Biden in recent weeks has been on a roll."  (Keith Koffler, "Gaffing Biden Heads Out On Vacation," White House Dossier, 5/29/2012)

"Bruising Ad"
Conservative Byte takes notice of the Romney Campaign's devastating new takedown of Barack Obama and his "crony capitalism" efforts on behalf of failed alternative energy firm Solyndra.
("Bruising Romney Ad Hits Obama Over Solyndra," Conservative Byte, 5/29/2012)

Weekly Republican Video Address:
In this week's address, Rep. Lynn Jenkins discusses The House Republican Plan for America's Job Creators and our all-of-the-above approach to domestic energy production. This past week, members of the House Energy Action Team (HEAT) toured energy sites across the country including oil rigs, fracking areas, and a pipeline factory to highlight our own resources. We must work with local energy producers to expand production and create jobs to help ease the pain at the pump.

Bring a Guest

To view this email as a web page, go here.

Mitt

Virginia,

My wife Ann has been my "plus one" for over 40 years now. And since I'm inviting her to join me for our next Grab a Bite meal, I want each lucky winner to bring his or her favorite "plus one" along too.

Grab a Bite - 2 More Spots

No matter what's on the menu, I just feel fortunate that I will be joining four lucky winners and hearing directly from them about what matters to their families.

Two of the four winners have already been chosen and will be bringing along their guests too. It should be a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to it.

So donate $3 to be automatically entered for you and a guest to grab a bite with Ann and me.

Thanks again for your support,

Mitt Romney

Dems Getting Nervous

2012 ELECTION COUNTDOWN:

Election Day: 168 Days
Follow us today on:
facebookVI twitterVI YouTubeVI

In this week's installment:

Mitt Romney's White House Day One
In a new TV ad from the Romney Campaign, Governor Mitt Romney lays out his plans for his first day in office in the White House: approving the Obama-stalled Keystone pipeline, introducing tax cuts for America's job creators, and beginning the process to repeal and replace ObamaCare.  (Justin Sink, "Romney Unveils Debut General-Election TV Ad," The Hill, 5/18/2012)

Stand Up For Free Markets!
The economic situation in Obama's America has gotten so bad that even the President's own allies can't help but point out the obvious -- that Barack Obama's anti-free market policies are to blame.  Over the weekend, Cory Booker, the Democrat Mayor of Newark, New Jersey, spoke out about being "uncomfortable" with the president's attacks on the free market, even going so far as to call them "ridiculous." Now, the Obama Campaign is out to silence him.  Let Mayor Booker know you agree with him!  Sign the "I Stand With Cory" Petition today!

Anti-Coal Agenda
"Vice President Biden is in Ohio coal country today. Yes, the same Biden who said in 2008, 'We're not supporting clean coal,' and 'No coal plants here in America!' Who even called coal a threat more dangerous than terrorism.  Coal country isn't Obama country and for good reason. If Obama and Biden get a second term, anti-coal Cap-and-Trade will be at the top of their 2013 agenda."  (Reince Priebus, "Priebus: Anti-Coal Biden Mines for Votes in Coal Country," Hot Air, 5/17/2012)

Biden's Rebuttal?
Joe Biden isn't surprised that more than 40% of West Virginia Democrats voted for a convicted felon over his boss in the state's recent primary -- but, of course, it's all George W. Bush's fault...  (Daniel Doherty, "Biden: I Don't 'Blame People' For Voting For West Virginia Felon," Townhall, 5/18/2012)

Megalomania
"The White House website has always featured biographies of past presidents. Now, however, President Obama has decided that those other presidential biographies weren't complete without a sentence about him. Seriously. As it turns out, all past presidents are just a window into President Obama's grand accomplishments." (Ben Shapiro, "Obama Inserts Himself In White House Bios of Past Presidents," Breitbart, 5/15/2012)

"Hands-Off"
"A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 64% of Likely U.S. Voters prefer a government with fewer services and lower taxes over one with more services and higher taxes."
(Poll Results, "America's Best Days: 64% Prefer a Government With Fewer Services and Lower Taxes," Rasmussen Reports, 5/20/2012)

513-0
"President Obama's budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when Senators voted 99-0 to reject it.  Coupled with the House's rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama's budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year."  (Stephen Dinan, "Obama Budget Defeated 99-0 in Senate," Washington Times, 5/16/2012)

Not What They Hoped For
Wisconsin leftists' faltering effort to unseat Republican Governor Scott Walker and reverse his much-needed reforms results in pessimism and squabbling for Democrats on a national scale.  (Christian Schneider, "Dems in Despair on Wisconsin," New York Post, 5/16/2012)

Dems Getting Nervous
"It has taken months of bad news, but Democrats increasingly believe that President Obama might just lose his re-election bid.  The latest wake-up call comes in the form of a New York Times/CBS poll showing Republican Mitt Romney in the lead not just among registered voters overall, but with women and independents."  (Chris Stirewalt, "Alarm Grows Among Dems About Obama's Chances," Fox News, 5/15/2012)

Hypocritical Campaign
"Maybe the Obama re-election campaign isn't the error-free juggernaut of media lore. Consider the puzzling decision to start trashing Mitt Romney's record at Bain Capital on the same day that President Obama was hitting up private-equity grandees for campaign contributions. Did David Plouffe think no one would notice?"  (Editorial, "Obama's 'Vampire' Capitalists: Write the President a Check and Escape Eternal Damnation," Wall Street Journal, 5/15/2012)

Tackling Taxes
Speaker John Boehner recently announced that House Republicans would try to attach a timeline to fast-track a broad tax overhaul to a vote extending the George W. Bush-era tax rates before the November elections.  (Russell Berman & Bernie Becker, "GOP Plans Fast Track For Tax Overhaul," The Hill, 5/15/2012)
