 | | | | | | | February 6, 2014 Dear Friends, Last week's debate with Bill Ayers reminded me of the differences between the spirit of 1776 that gave us this great country and the spirit of 1968 – a radical vision for our nation that has brought us to the brink of destruction. If you missed the debate, click here to check out the entire video. TheBlaze pulled some of the best clips from our livestream, so check out their article to watch me debate Ayers on gun control, slavery, gay rights, and libertarianism. Below are some of my recent interviews about the Ayers debate, the indictment, and more. We have seen such an outpouring of support in the last two weeks from you and from major media outlets. Thank you! These recent events remind me of how I first "earned Obama's rage," something I shared with The Wrap last year. I will continue to fight for our shared vision of American exceptionalism, and I'm excited that production on my new movie, America, slated for release on Independence Day, is close to wrapping. We need to work together to fight back against the liberal machine that is opposed to our basic freedoms and uses a politicized federal government to exact their vengeance on liberty-loving Americans. Sincerely, Dinesh D'Souza | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
Congressman Randy Forbes | | | | | | On January 28, 2014, President Obama delivered his fifth official State of the Union Address before a joint session of Congress. As part of the speech, the President announced that he will issue an executive order requiring federal contractors to pay their employees $10.10 an hour, and urged Congress to increase the overall federal minimum wage to the same rate. Supporters believe that raising the minimum wage is necessary to reduce income inequality in our nation and grow the economy because workers will have more money to put back into their local communities. Those who oppose the increase believe that more regulation from Washington will further burden small businesses - forcing employers to slow hiring and reduce hours - thereby stifling economic growth. Question of the week: Do you support an increase in the federal minimum wage? ( ) Yes. ( ) No. ( ) I don't know. ( ) Other. Take the Poll here. Update Profile / Unsubscribe | | | | | | | A Message from 2016 Co-Producer Gerald Molen Dear Friends of Dinesh, In America, we have a long tradition of not doing what is commonly done in too many other countries -- criminalizing dissent through the selective enforcement of the law. But that has seemingly changed in Obama's America. Yesterday, I explained the politcally-motivated events that led to Dinesh's indictment on campaign-finance charges to the Hollywood Reporter. In the same article, I explained that the Feds have chosen to pursue this alleged minor violation in the same way the IRS targeted conservative Tea Party groups for retribution. In light of the way the IRS has been used to stifle dissent, this arrest should send shivers down the spines of all freedom-loving Americans. Our production team for America has issued the following statement: "We believe this is an unfortunate misunderstanding arising out of Dinesh D'Souza's desire to help the uphill campaign of a friend. There was no intent to do anything illegal or corrupt in any way. This will have no impact on the film America, which will be released on the Fourth of July this year as previously announced. Filming is on schedule and D'Souza will continue to lead the enterprise." Neither the filmmakers nor the American public can allow this prosecution to deter us from the film's release, and I am calling upon the American people to show their elected officials that this kind of selective prosecution will not stand by joining us at the box office. I look forward to my good friend Dinesh being vindicated as we hold federal authorities accountable to enforce the law equally and without mind to their personal political agenda. You can leave your support on Dinesh's Facebook Page and with a #StandWithDinesh tweet. As one insightful commenter wrote on the article in THR, Obama's DOJ is out to settle scores. All my best, Gerald R. (Jerry) Molen | | | | | | | | | | | | | | |
Update Profile / Unsubscribe | | | | | | | January 14, 2014 Dear Friends, I feel very privileged to now have two Oscar-winning producers working on my upcoming film, America. This week, we announced that Gray Frederickson, Best Picture Oscar-winner for The Godfather Part II, will co-produce America along with Gerald Molen, who also won an Oscar for Best Picture. America comes out in the theaters across the country on the Fourth of July, and Frederickson makes a great addition to our team. His credits include Apocalypse Now, One From the Heart, The Outsiders, and The Grand Energy Transition, a movie that makes the case that hydraulic fracking does not harm the environment. Watch the teaser trailer for America here, and read the Hollywood Reporter article about the Frederickson announcement here. I am also so excited to let you know that we have finalized the debate details, and I will be going head-to-head with Bill Ayers on January 30 at 7:30 PM ET. And the best part?
