Obama, Stupid or Evil? Weekly Update from Dinesh D'Souza Dear Friends, On Wednesday this week, Bowe Bergdahl—the guy who Obama traded for five Taliban commanders—will now be officially charged with desertion. Finally! In the case of the Taliban Five swap, was Obama being stupid or evil? Our GOP Congress should investigate whether he knew Bergdahl was a deserter when he made the abominable trade. What does it mean for Americans when our president releases known terrorists in exchange for a known deserter? Contrary to what Obama promised, three of the Taliban Five are already trying to get back in the terror business. Likewise, Susan Rice said that Bergdahl served "with honor and distinction." Was this just a big lie, or does she consider desertion to be an honorable act? Notice how indignant the left was about Chris Kyle, and how silent they are now about Bergdahl. When Ted Cruz announced his presidential candidacy this week at Liberty University, he set off a liberal firestorm for voicing his conviction that our rights come from God Almighty. But it's entirely consistent with the longstanding American tradition. When Thomas Jefferson sat down to write where our rights come from, he could only think of one source—the Creator! While I'm not sure who my 2016 favorite is at this early stage, I'm glad young faces like Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio are a part of the Republican party's presidential field while Democrats only have two grandmas out of a horror movie to offer! Making this an even busier news week, Obama decided to voice his support for a "mandatory voting" policy in America. Hey, Obama, instead of MANDATORY VOTING, how about you propose MANDATORY WORKING? The freedom to vote implies the freedom NOT to vote—evidently our faux constitutional scholar in the White House doesn't know that. Perhaps next Obama will advance proposals to require people to regularly speak and assemble in public places. In advocating mandatory voting, Obama is counting on the ignorant multitudes to swell the ranks of the Democrats. If one has no clue what's going on, it's better not to vote and to leave the outcome to those who do: I was also excited to appear in the special engagement film event Four Blood Moons this week, based on my friend Pastor John Hagee's book on the topic. Because of the reception the film received, an encore presentation has been scheduled in theaters nationwide on April 9. Click here for theater listings! Sincerely, Dinesh D'Souza |
