Friend,

Encouraging news came out of Washington last night!

By a margin of 419-3, the House of Representatives overwhelmingly passed a bill that imposes new sanctions against Russia and gives Congress the authority to ensure the President can’t weaken them unilaterally.

This is a real, tangible accomplishment for the Stand Up Republic network, and it would not have been possible without your hard work.

Thank you to the thousands of people who signed petitions, made phone calls and penned letters to House Republican leaders urging them to advance the bill without stripping its most important measures.

Friend — this outcome was not inevitable. GOP leaders Speaker Ryan and Majority Leader McCarthy spent weeks stalling this bill’s progress while contemplating weaker punishments in the face of White House pressure.

Ultimately, thanks to this community and our allies, the House recognized that they must act.

The newly-passed Russia sanctions bill is a step in the right direction. It punishes Moscow for interfering with our elections, and it protects our liberty from future meddling by Vladimir Putin.

But we’re not done yet!

This bill now moves back to the Senate and into the hands of Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, where he and his colleagues must act quickly.

Let’s keep pressure on the Senate and send this bill to the President’s desk for signature.

Friend, will you chip in $10 for the next phase of this fight?

Thank you for your continued support of this important movement. We won't rest until these sanctions become law, and the Kremlin knows that they’ll be held accountable for future attacks!
